How to request requirements before booking
On this page
Some services need patients to accept or prepare something before their appointment (a consent form, fasting, bringing a test). You can require it at booking.
Steps
- Open Your Business → Services and open the service.
- Scroll to Service Requirements and add one.
- Give it a name, write the description, and choose the type.
- Create the requirement.
The description is the text the patient reads and accepts. Write it for them, not for you.
Requirement types
| Type | The patient… |
|---|---|
| Informed Consent | reads a text and accepts it |
| Form | confirms they provided the information |
| Document Upload | attaches a file or a reference |
| Media | watches a video or a brochure and confirms they saw it |
Mandatory or not, before or after
Two settings change when a requirement gets in the way:
- Mandatory: only a mandatory pre-service requirement blocks booking. An optional one is shown, but never blocks.
- Phase: pre-service is asked at booking; post-service is asked after the appointment and never blocks the booking.
A once per patient requirement is not asked again: someone who already accepted it books straight through.
What happens when booking
- If the service has requirements, a Requirements section appears in the booking.
- The patient must check each mandatory requirement to confirm; the confirm button stays disabled until they complete them.
- Services without requirements don’t show that section.
It is recorded
What the patient accepts is stored: what they accepted, and at what time. The time comes from the server, not from the patient’s browser.
If someone tries to book without accepting a mandatory requirement, the server refuses the booking — even if they skip the screen.
If the requirement is a consent
When the patient accepts an Informed Consent requirement while booking, it is saved as a consent on their record. If the consent template allows remote signing, they also get a link to sign it, valid for 7 days:
- By WhatsApp, if your practice has WhatsApp connected and the patient authorized the processing of their data. It arrives as a message with a Leer y firmar (read and sign) button.
- By email, if WhatsApp is not possible.
The text they sign already carries the patient’s, the guardian’s, your
practice’s details and the date. Anything missing stays visible as {{field}}
so you know what to complete — your name, ID and professional card, for
instance, fill in once you verify your profile with RETHUS.
If you tick the requirement yourself, with the patient present, no link is sent.
Tip
Write concrete, actionable requirements (“Arrive fasting for 8 hours”) — patients see them and accept them right before booking.
